Wu Siou Ming, based in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, is a sound artist and interdisciplinary creator whose practice spans sound, digital media, interactive systems, and installation. His work investigates how technological environments shape human perception, temporality, and collective experience, situating artistic practice within broader social and cultural infrastructures.
Operating across both physical and site-specific contexts, Wu develops participatory systems that transform everyday data, bodily gestures, and environmental signals into evolving audiovisual compositions. These processes critically examine how digital infrastructures influence attention, behavior, and modes of relation, while questioning systemic power structures and the cultural conditions of contemporary digital life.
Wu’s works have been presented in museums and international festivals across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. He has received the 2025 Don Sante Contemporary Art Award (Social Art Prize, Italy), the Arte Laguna Prize Special Award, and the Kaohsiung Award, and was selected for Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture “Made in Taiwan” program. His projects have been showcased at Ars Electronica (Austria), SIGGRAPH Asia, Science Gallery Monterrey, Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin, and the Athens Biennale.
By integrating sound, generative systems, and interactive media, Wu creates poetic yet critical experiences that invite audiences to reconsider their relationship with technology, environment, and collective memory, positioning his practice as both an aesthetic exploration and a cultural critique.
